My experience with commercial design began with studying graphic design at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. I learned practical skills in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects and basic HTML & CSS coding, but also taught me about things like visual communication, inclusive design and typography.

The hawk newspaper website redesign
As Online Editor for the Hawk Student Newspaper, I was responsible for taking all content from the print PDF and converting it to better fit the website. This included adding graphics, reformatting, and uploading longer alternative articles.
I also helped design a page of the weekly print paper each issue.
During my senior year, I redesigned sjuhawknews.com to increase functionality, internal traffic, search engine optimization and overall ethos.
This project concluded my role as website manager my senior year. By transferring from a WordPress theme to using SNO.sites, I was able to build a new website to increase internal traffic, search engine optimization, ethos and functionality.
